Hot Yoga South was founded in 2008 by Carolyn Jikiemi-Roberts. You can call her CJ. 

BRIGHTON was her first studio, her baby really.

 

Prior to her first class, CJ thought yoga was boring.  

 

Why did she change her mind? Two reasons. Firstly, after a few classes she realised that yoga had massively reduced chronic discomfort following a whiplash injury and secondly, CJ’s kids said that yoga made her a less grumpy mum.  

 

She trained and qualified as a Bikram Yoga teacher in 2003.  

It’s OK to be rubbish at yoga

Our teachers are aware that 90% of students can’t do 90% of the postures 90% of the time.

 

This doesn’t matter. You’ll get better.

 

After all, yoga is a practice. It’s also OK if you’re a bit clumsy, have a potbelly and your yoga outfit isn’t Instagram-ready. The fact is, we welcome everyone regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, weight and ability.
